As a husband and father of five – two girls and three boys – he is fully aware that every life is a gift and each person is unique. The words, “Life Is a Gift” is not only the guiding philosophy for his practice; it is his outlook on the world.

Dr. Payne is Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a certified DaVinci Robotic Surgeon.

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Al Antonetti to Southwest Georgia Obstetrics | Gynecology. Dr. Antonetti has delivered thousands of babies in Pensacola, FL, and brings 30 years of experience to our practice. Dr. Antonetti has been on faculty at Florida State University College of Medicine and the University of Florida College of Medicine; in fact, he helped train Dr. Payne in medical school and residency! He has trained hundreds of medical residents throughout his career, and is loved by his patients and the medical community of Pensacola.

Shelrel Berry, CNM

Shelrel Berry, CNM at Southwest Georgia Obstetrics & Gynecology

Shelrel was born in a small city in rural Alabama, the daughter of a farmer and a homemaker, and seventh of nine children. Shelrel acknowledges that her love for midwifery started at an early age when she was introduced to a lay midwife when she was just an adolescent. This sparked an interest in nursing, particularly, labor and delivery nursing. At that moment she realized that it was God’s plan for her to pursue nursing and subsequently midwifery as a career and what she refers to as her ministry. She believes that midwifery is a gift given to her to be “with women” encouraging and empowering them through one of the most miraculous moments in life.

Lisa Gowan, CNM, WHNP-BC

Lisa Gowan, CNM, WHNP-BC at Southwest Georgia Obstetrics & Gynecology

Lisa has spent many years in the field of nursing and enjoys working in the specialty of women's health. Lisa graduated in 1987 from Wallace Community College with her RN degree, and has worked in nursing for more than 25 years. After working in various areas, Lisa realized that she wanted to use her experience to focus primarily on women's health at an advanced level. This led her to an introduction to Shelrel, who was the inspiration for Lisa pursuing a degree in nurse midwifery. Lisa earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Troy University, and master's degree in midwifery and women's health from the University of Cincinnati. She is board certified in Nurse Midwifery and as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. Lisa has practiced in Meridian, Mississippi, and Dothan, Alabama, and has served on the Alabama Board of Nursing Advanced Practice Nursing Committee. She is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society, AWHONN, and ACNM.

Scarlett Wade, ARNP-C.

Scarlett Wade, ARNP-C. at Southwest Georgia Obstetrics & Gynecology

Born and raised in the Albany area, Scarlett Wade enjoys caring for her home-town patients as an Advanced Registered Nurse Pracititioner (ARNP).  She received her nursing degree from Abraham Baldwin Technical College in 2009.  She worked as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hosptial for the following six years.  

Soon after graduating from nursing school, Scarlett realized that she wanted to advance her education to become a nurse practitioner.  Dedicated to achieve her goal, she obtained her nurse practitioner degree in 2015 from the University of Alabama in Birmingham.  Scarlett feels blessed to be a part of the medical team at Southwest Georgia Obstetrics and Gynecology.  She enjoys working in women’s health and focuses on preventative care to promote healthy lifestyles.

Becky Revell, ARNP-C at Southwest Georgia Obstetrics & Gynecology

Born and raised in Albany, Becky Revell is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Georgia Southern University, she returned to Albany and was a neonatal intensive care nurse for 10 years. Wanting to further her education and career, Becky attended South University where she earned her master’s degree, and she is excited to continue to serve the patient population in Albany at Southwest Georgia OBGYN.
